Established by Ruth and Alan Irving in 1979 is the gorgeous Al Ru Farm. The venue has become a landmark in the South Australian garden and event industry arenas. It is located only 40 minutes from the CBD and nestled between the Barossa Valley and the Adelaide Hills. The farm offers all the history and charm of a country estate in a easy to find location.
Ruth set about creating the garden that is now covering 10 acres over 40 years on. The homestead and surrounding buildings have grown along with the garden. The year 1990 saw the first wedding hosted! ‘The Barn’ was established as the main reception space and offerings were gradually added. More recently further event spaces have been added. The spaces are constantly evolving and seeing improvements and are a true labour of love.
Each one of the spaces has such a unique feel. The lawn offers that quintessential outdoor Australian feel. The Hay Shed is stunning and ever popular with it’s rustic charm. Last but not least, the incredible Barn is definitely one of the most popular choices for our couples.
