Before there was open booth hire…

Rewind to 2009 and In the Booth’s beginning and open booth hire didn’t even exist! Photo booth hire for special events began out of the original enclosed passport booths. Most of these have now been done away. They are just too heavy and limiting for the special event environment. Did you know they weigh around 300kg? Imagine loading one of those babies up and down venue staircases!

We knew In the Booth had to be different to suit the special event market. We were the first photo booth created in Australia specifically designed for the special event market. We’re proud to say we got it right and our booth design hasn’t change to this day! Sure, we’ve added new digital technologies and experiences. However the physical presence of our booth is identical to guests now as it was in 2009.

Back then a photo booth had barely been heard of at a wedding. It goes without saying a video booth definitely hadn’t been heard of! In 2011, we added our world-first video messaging feature to our booths. It was met with great excitement by our customers and their guests and garners the same response to this day!

Our enclosed environment creates a mini sound stage. Guest audio can be recorded even with a party raging just outside the velvet curtain. High definition sound recording requires a number of important things in the mobile sound booth environment. In the Booth remains one of the only photo booth companies to offer this service due to its specialised requirements.

Enter open booth hire

Fast forward a few years and the option of open booth hire appeared. The majority of photo stations are made overseas. There are also plenty that are of questionable quality! In the Booth recognises the fun guests get out of taking a photo in an open environment and put a new twist on it with Guest Cam.

Guest Cam means guests can capture a photo via our app and it will print out of the booth, just like their traditional prints. Not only that, guests aren’t tied to one location to take photos like an open booth hire. The “booth” moves with your guests’ smart device! While Guest Cam is similar to an open booth hire it is also like a roaming photographer. Guest Cam literally turns every guest into a photographer at your event!
