Wedding vendor selection to enhance your wedding celebration is both daunting and exciting. On the plus side, there’s so many vendors and there’s no shortage of choice. On the down side, there’s so many vendors and so much choice 😉

From price to product, choosing the right wedding vendor can really make or break an awesome celebration. Here are our best tips for choosing the right wedding vendor for your big day.

Read plenty of reviews

Whether it be on Google, Easy Weddings, ABIA or from John and Nelly down the road, look for reviews not crafted by the business owner. Genuine feedback and reviews from past customers will always give you a great idea of what to expect on the day. Trust past client experience to give you an honest opinion – the good, the bad and the ugly!

Reputation is everything

We’ll say it once and we will say it again! A vendor with a great industry reputation is the right vendor for you. Choose the wedding vendor that is experienced and preferably has been to your venue before. Don’t select a vendor who thinks they should be paid to practice. Your venue refers certain vendors for a reason. Chat to them and find out why.

Product quality

Take a good look at the product offering. Does this visually meet your requirements? Ensure your vendor is using high quality equipment to give you a high quality experience. Let’s use photo booths as an example. At In the Booth we use a professional DSRL digital camera to capture your images in high resolution. An iPad or webcam camera will not produce high-quality photographs.

Inclusions & hidden extras

Make sure you check out all the inclusions that your vendor is able to offer for your hire period. Our photo booths are all inclusive in regards to our hire packages, meaning no sneaky extra fees or additional costs. For example, it’s common for a guest book to be an added extra with photo booth hire.

Wedding vendor support

Will your vendor be taking care of the delivery and set up on the day of your event or will you be left to do this yourself? Will someone be on hand if a guest has questions? With so many exciting things happening on your big day, the last thing you need to be doing is running around trying to put together your balloon garland!

Communication

Don’t make excuses for your wedding vendor communication! Taking weeks to respond to your queries is not acceptable even if they’ve “been busy”. Customer service is an essential part of event planning. There’s always someone waiting so planning can move forward. Quality vendors don’t keep their customers waiting.
