Wedding showcase visits are almost a rite of passage while planning a wedding. There’s something super fun about planning a day out with your besties for all things wedding planning. Wedding showcase overwhelm is also a real thing, so be prepared!

There will be a lot of wedding showcase options available for you. Looking at your wedding calendar. How many months are there until your wedding? There won’t be much point attending a wedding showcase in the final months. You will want to have all your suppliers locked in by then. It all depends on how long of an engagement you plan to have.

Bridal expos can be somewhat seasonal. Suppliers often hold showcases in the spring and autumn months, as these are popular times to envision a wedding. In addition, a 12 month engagement is common so couples can view their venue in the same season as when they will be getting married. Services such as florists also have access to seasonal flowers for their displays and demonstrations for couples.

How to find a wedding showcase in your area

Google
Google is your best friend! Google searches such as wedding showcase, wedding fair, bridal fair and bridal expo should all bring in some great results. You can see some of the Australia’s main bridal expo providers here and here.

Will your venue be hosting their own venue showcase?
Many wedding venues will host their own showcases for couples from time to time. Speak with your wedding coordinator and ask if they have any scheduled. It will be the perfect opportunity to see your venue decked out for a wedding before your big day!

Search Events on Facebook
Did you know you can search the Events feature on Facebook? Drill down to your local area and search for ‘wedding showcase’ or ‘wedding open night’. You never know what might pop up.

Ask your suppliers
A wedding showcase isn’t a showcase without suppliers! Talk to your suppliers about what promotional events they’ll be attending soon. It will be a great chance to chat with them and see their services in person. We love when clients who have already booked our photo booth drop by wedding expos. It’s so nice to be able to chat about their weddings in person!

How to get the best out of a wedding showcase

Write things down
A pad and pen or a notes app in your phone is your friend here! You’re going to see a lot of suppliers and get a lot of ideas. Trust us when we say this can be super overwhelming! Be ready to take down notes to keep everything straight. Most suppliers will be happy for you to take photos of their displays too (maybe just ask a polite question first!).

Accept all the information
The majority of suppliers will have some printed information for you to take home. Add it all to the bag to go through when you get home. Don’t try to pick and choose on the spot – you need time to read and research. Suppliers may also have QR codes where you can put through an enquiry straight away. Sending text messages to yourself of links for suppliers you loved will also keep all the information together.

Expect a bag of samples!

If a company has limited examples on their website or photos that look suspiciously like stock images, always request some physical samples. These are much harder to fake! A wedding showcase should mean the photo booth you’re trialling is ready for action and printing photos. Make sure you take some!
