Vintage Photo Booth Hire: Problems and Solutions
Vintage photo booth hire has a certain je ne sais quoi vibe! Our gorgeous booths can claim many things but they’re the photo booth concept isn’t new. Genuine vintage photo booths have been around since the early 1900’s. We’re passionate about keeping their beautiful basics and updating ones that are a tad past their time.
Once upon a time services hired vintage photo booths. The idea was awesome! Photo booths and events go together like peas and carrots. However, there are a few features of vintage photo booth hire that don’t work so well for modern day events.
Vintage photo booth hire is heavy!
Problem: Did you know an original photo booth weighs over 300kg? This is because all the equipment is fixed in place. Components of the booth can’t be removed for set up. The size and weight of the booth has to be handled in one go! Steps, lifts and tight access are all issues for vintage photo booth hire. The weight of traditional printing equipment, chemicals and a steel cabinet add up to one heavy machine!
Solution: We’ve designed our booths to come apart into small and manageable panels for ease of loading in and out of any venue. To date, there hasn’t been a venue we couldn’t get into! All equipment the booth needs are loaded in separately to lighten the load further. Every one of our items can be carried by a single person.
Chemicals are problematic
Problem: Vintage photo booth hire ran on traditional film prints. This means all manner of chemicals are needed to develop photos. These chemicals run out and are almost impossible to source with the rise of digital photography.
Solution: All hail digital! Despite or good vintage photo booth hire looks, our booths are fully digital on the inside. This means reliability and no nasty chemicals. Our instant prints also land completely dry so there’s no waving photos around waiting for the left over chemical to dry off.
Backdrops were limited
Problem: Everything in a vintage photo booth was designed to be a permanent fixture. This includes the backdrop. Often the background of the photo is a plain colour or piece of fabric. There was no option to change backdrop colours.
Solution: In contrast we designed our booths with backdrop choice in mind. Customers have an endless array of gorgeous colours and styles to choose from. You’re sure to find one that perfectly matches the theme of your celebration. Our backdrops are removed at the end of each event so they can be laundered. In addition our backdrops are designed to show off your guests and we keep them looking their best!
Sitting room only
Problem: Vintage photo booths are tiny on the inside. They were designed for two people at most to fit into the photo. Retro booths came fitted with an adjustable height seat.
Solution: Standing room only! Our booth design easily fits a crowd by allowing guests to stand. Furthermore our size allows us to capture a ¾ body image so you can see what everyone is wearing, not just their head and shoulders. Additionally, removing the seat also makes entering and exiting the booth faster for guests.
Vintage photo booth hire was a square peg in a round hole
Problem: Vintage photo booths simply weren’t designed to be mobile for events. Their purpose was to stay in one place where passers-by could enjoy an impromptu photo. Afterward they developed into taking passport photos.
Solution: Last but not least we’ve designed a photo booth that has had literally thousands of guests through their velvet curtains since 2009. Our tried and true design was the first of its kind designed especially for the event industry. In the Booth strives to provide not just a photo booth but an entertainment centre for your event with plenty of options to keep your guests entertained for hours!
